About
Miranda is an artist and writer based in the South of England where she has spent her entire life.
Born 1977 in the Cathedral City of Salisbury in Wiltshire, Miranda finished at Art College and went on to train as a specialist decorative paint finisher, this was to give her a good foundation and grounding in technique and discipline.
Having gained experience in working with colour, using different pigments and materials, and learning many specialist painting techniques, she now incorporates this all into her artwork.
Miranda's work is rooted in the magic of nature and the hidden stories it holds. Through her paintings, she intertwines folklore, myth, and the wild, untamed beauty of the natural world, creating scenes that feel timeless and otherworldly. From ancient forests and jurassic coastlines to rolling hills and the creatures that inhabit these places, they all play an intrinsic part in Miranda's work. Her connection with the shifting seasons, and the quiet rhythms of the earth inspire her deeply, filling her art with mystery and wonder. To Miranda each brushstroke is a word in an unfolding story, and every piece of art she creates is a narrative she shares with those who encounter it.
Miranda has exhibited work in the UK and has work in private collections worldwide. She endeavours to work with natural pigment, paints and tools that she hand makes and is always experimenting with natural environmentally friendly alternative materials to use for her work.
Alongside her paintings, Miranda creates jewellery inspired by nature and is currently working on her first fantasy fiction book - continuing her life long exploration of storytelling through many forms.
